Dr Arif Hussenbux is a Consultant Gastroenterologist based in Buckinghamshire.
Practising at Wycombe, Amersham and Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Dr Hussenbux has considerable expertise in interventional endoscopy. He performs a wide range of endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, polypectomy, endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP (endoscopy of the bile duct), stent insertion and stricture dilatation.
Dr Hussenbux also has an interest in general gastroenterology including irritable bowel syndrome, abdominal pain and gasto-oesophageal reflux disease.

Background
Dr Hussenbux qualified from Barts and the London, School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2014 where he was awarded the Goldberg-Schachmann and Freda Becker Bursary for exceptionally high academic ranking.
He then underwent specialist training within the Oxford deanery, where he provided an active role within the British Society Gastroenterology as the regional trainee committee representative. During this period, he published multiple research articles and contributed chapters to gastroenterology books. Post training, Dr Hussenbux was awarded the internationally renowned advanced hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) medicine fellowship at St James University Hospital in Leeds. He was the first person in the country to achieve Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy (JAG) accreditation in endoscopic ultrasound and ERCP.
Alongside his medical degree, Dr Hussenbux has a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Medicine. He recognises the importance of fitness and nutrition to our overall gut health and will likely incorporate this in your personalised treatment plan.
Dr Hussenbux specialises in general gastroenterology with a specialist interest in the liver, biliary tree and pancreas. He regularly performs both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy for a wide range of conditions.
Dr Hussenbux is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, where he leads the HPB service. He played a key role in enhancing patient care by introducing Endoscopic Ultrasound, a ground-breaking service for the hospital. Passionate about medical education, Dr Hussenbux is also a dedicated member of the Oxford Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Training Faculty.
Dr Hussenbux is dedicated to his patients within both NHS and private care. He has a balanced approach to life, enjoying weightlifting and badminton as well as quality time with his family.
