Do I need a GP referral to book an appointment?
Ideally, yes, as consultation findings will be shared with your GP. However, I can review patients without a GP referral on a case-by-case basis. Please discuss this with my secretary, and I will review your request. You’ll need to provide copies of all relevant investigations and medical correspondence.
Which private hospitals or clinics do you consult and operate at?
I practise at three locations: Spire Thames Valley Hospital in Slough, The Chiltern Hospital in Great Missenden, and The Royal Berkshire Hospital in Aylesbury.
What are your initial consultation fees, and what is included?
Initial consultations are £250, which includes a comprehensive, unhurried 30-minute personalised appointment. Consultations are available both face-to-face and virtually. Please note this fee is only applicable for self pay patients.
Which private medical insurance providers are you registered with?
I am recognised by all major health insurance providers, including AXA, Bupa, Vitality, Allianz, WPA, Healix, Aviva, and Cigna.
What is a colonoscopy, and what will it detect?
For a comprehensive explanation, please watch my quick guide to understanding colonoscopy procedures: Video Link
Will I be sedated for my gastroscopy or colonoscopy?
I offer flexible sedation options to suit your needs. Procedures can be performed with or without conscious sedation. For those preferring deeper sedation, I offer propofol anaesthesia at Spire Thames Valley Hospital, administered by a Consultant Anaesthetist.
How do I prepare for my colonoscopy?
Once your procedure is scheduled, my secretary will email you comprehensive preparation instructions, including bowel prep guidelines and dietary requirements.
What is the difference between IBS and IBD?
Please watch my guide to understanding IBS for detailed information. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1d0-q2jsW40&t=46s However, seek urgent specialist review if experiencing: severe bowel habit changes lasting over 2 weeks, rectal bleeding, unexplained weight loss, or worsening abdominal pain, as these may indicate IBD.
